Urban Development Initiatives for Patna
On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced that the state government is working on a significant urban development model for the capital city of Patna, which will be known as Pataliputra in the future. Speaking at a public welfare camp in Nadiyawan village, Fulwari Sharif, Chaudhary elaborated on the government's plans regarding infrastructure, law and order, industrial growth, and welfare measures. He emphasized that the government is developing new townships under a grand vision to expand Patna and modernize its infrastructure.
Chaudhary explained that the concept of Greater Patna has been designed under the name Pataliputra, aiming to connect the city's future development with its historical identity. He pointed out longstanding challenges, such as waterlogging in areas like Kankarbagh, and stated that urban planning will now focus on enhancing basic infrastructure and promoting economic activities.
Maintaining law and order is one of the government's top priorities, according to the Chief Minister. He assured that the administration will continue to take strict action against criminal activities and ensure the safety of citizens, particularly in matters concerning women. Referring to a recent incident in Bhojpur, he mentioned that the suspect has been apprehended and assured that negligence in such cases will not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister also stated that district officials have been granted special powers to provide immediate assistance to families facing sudden crises, natural disasters, or essential social responsibilities like weddings. He noted that this initiative aims to ensure timely help in difficult situations. Chaudhary expressed that industrial expansion and township development will aid in attracting investments to Bihar and create job opportunities. He is optimistic that these initiatives will significantly contribute to the state's economic growth.
