Bihar Government Resolves Over 5.33 Lakh Public Grievances Through New Initiative

Bihar's Public Grievance Resolution Initiative

The Bihar government has successfully addressed more than 5.33 lakh grievances out of over 5.83 lakh complaints received under the recently launched cooperation camp initiative. Officials provided this update on Friday, noting that 5.18 percent of the cases remain unresolved. This initiative, which commenced on May 19, has garnered a total of 5,83,866 applications.


Of these, 5,33,904 cases have been resolved, while 19,718 applications were rejected, and 30,244 cases are still pending. According to information released by the General Administration Department, the highest percentage of pending cases is in Patna district, where 9.33 percent of applications are unresolved. Patna received a total of 28,206 applications, with 24,663 resolved, 911 rejected, and 2,632 still pending.


Mohammad Sohail, Secretary of the General Administration Department, stated at a press conference in Patna that, "So far, we have received 5,83,866 applications at the cooperation camp, and within approximately two to two and a half months, 5,33,904 cases have been resolved, while action on the remaining cases is ongoing." He also mentioned that under the Bihar Right to Public Services (RTPS) Act of 2011, over 53.8 crore applications for services such as caste, income, and residential certificates have been processed.


Sohail added that the state government has implemented an automatic appeal system for delays in RTPS services starting June 23. If an application is not resolved within the stipulated timeframe, it automatically escalates to the appeal level. Since the implementation of this system, 6,934 appeals have been automatically registered, with 5,503 resolved.


He further noted that since January 22, 2016, over 19.38 lakh complaints have been addressed through special officers deployed at the divisional, sub-divisional, and district levels under the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act. Additionally, 16,106 complaints from both active and retired government employees have been resolved under the Bihar Government Employee Grievance Redressal System, which was initiated in 2019. Sohail also highlighted that under the 'Saat Nischay-2' and 'Saat Nischay-3' programs, employment has been provided to 10,27,839 individuals.


This includes regular appointments for 8,19,634 individuals and contractual positions for 1,32,558. He mentioned that proposals have been sent to various recruitment commissions and boards to fill 1,72,218 vacant positions across different departments during the years 2025-26 and 2026-27. Furthermore, approval has been granted for the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4).


Sohail also reported that under the Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme, operated in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya, 107 management experts have been deployed in various government departments to enhance good governance through modern administrative practices.
