Bihar Government Mandates E-KYC for Landowners with Special Camps
Mandatory E-KYC for Farmers in Bihar
Patna, January 7, 2026: The Bihar government has made it compulsory for all landowners (farmers) benefiting from agricultural schemes to complete farmer registration and e-KYC. This initiative is part of the central government's Agri-Stack project, which aims to provide farmers with a digital farmer ID linked to their Aadhaar. This will ensure that benefits from government schemes, such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, are delivered directly and transparently.
According to the agriculture department, farmers who fail to complete their e-KYC and registration on time may miss out on the next installment of benefits. To expedite this process, the Bihar government has decided to launch a special campaign from January 6 to 9, 2026, across the state. During these four days, special camps will be organized at the panchayat level.
Where are the Camps Being Held? These camps are set up at the panchayat agriculture offices, panchayat buildings, or panchayat government buildings. Agricultural advisors and coordinators are visiting villages to provide information.
What Documents are Required?
- Aadhaar card
- Mobile number
- Land-related documents (Khasra, Jamabandi, etc.)
Farmers can attend the camps to complete their e-KYC, register their land claims, and provide e-signatures. The entire process will be conducted online, with revenue staff assisting in verifying land records.
The agriculture minister has urged all landowners to visit their nearest panchayat camp. If anyone encounters issues, they should contact the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) or the sub-divisional or block agriculture officer.
