He announced the formation of a high-level team to investigate complaints and emphasized the need for new legislation to tackle these issues effectively. Additionally, he addressed the increasing complaints regarding e-mapping, calling for strict monitoring to assist farmers. To help citizens with old land documents in Kaithi script, a panel of experts will be established. The Deputy CM also urged for a plan to boost the usage of the Bihar Land Portal, ensuring timely processing of registry applications. This comprehensive meeting included key officials from various departments.

In-Depth Review of Land Issues

The Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, conducted a thorough review of departmental activities for the third consecutive day in his office. The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of the department, Mr. C.K. Anil, along with all senior officials. During the discussion, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed serious concerns regarding the increasing number of land disputes in the state and the activities of mafia elements involved in preparing fraudulent documents, stating that these elements cause distress to the public by dragging them to court.


He made it clear that upon receiving such complaints, a high-level team would be formed to investigate, and strict action would be taken against the offenders under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Furthermore, he mentioned that if necessary, new legislation would be introduced with the support of the central government to prevent such cases.


Addressing E-Mapping Complaints

While discussing the rising complaints related to e-mapping, Mr. Sinha instructed that strict monitoring should be implemented to facilitate land measurement for farmers and curb the arbitrary actions of amin officials. He requested an assessment of the work done by amin officials across all regions and mandated a specific format for e-mapping reports to be followed by the department.


Panel of Experts for Kaithi Script

To alleviate the difficulties faced by citizens due to old land documents being in Kaithi script, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the formation of a district-wise panel of Kaithi script experts and instructed that their list be displayed in the block offices. He also emphasized the need for widespread awareness regarding this initiative.


Enhancing Bihar Land Portal Usage

During the meeting, he called for a detailed action plan to increase the number of users for the Bihar Land Portal. Keeping public convenience in mind, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed that all registry offices disseminate information that applications for filing and rejection must be submitted within 90 days of registration to ensure timely processing of work.
