Bihar Cricket Association Celebrates Historic Achievement

Harsh Vardhan, the president of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), expressed his congratulations to the Bihar team for their remarkable achievement, describing the match as a source of immense pride for Bihar cricket. He praised the entire team for their fearless attitude and discipline, giving special recognition to the three centurions: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sakibul Gani, and Ayush Loharuka, for their exceptional batting performances.


Bihar Breaks Records with Unprecedented Total

In a stunning display, Bihar set a new men's List A record by scoring an incredible 574 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh during a Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate match. This innings surpassed the previous record of 506 runs for 2 wickets set by Tamil Nadu against the same team in 2022, as well as England's 498 runs for 4 wickets earlier that year. Bihar's innings featured three remarkable centuries, an impressive 49 fours, and 38 sixes, achieving a run rate of 11.48.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: A Rising Star

The highlight of the match was the young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who, at just 14 years and 272 days, became the youngest player to score a century in men's List A cricket. He not only achieved this milestone but also set the record for the fastest 150 in men's List A history, reaching the mark in just 59 balls. He concluded his innings with an impressive 190 runs off 84 balls, including 16 fours and 15 sixes.


The BCA president specifically acknowledged Vaibhav's record-breaking performance, stating, "A special mention must go to young Vaibhav Suryavanshi for smashing multiple records and becoming the youngest player to score a century in men's List A cricket. Support from Gani and Loharuka

Vaibhav received excellent support from his teammates. Captain Sakibul Gani delivered a phenomenal unbeaten innings of 128 runs off just 40 balls, hitting 10 fours and 12 sixes, while wicketkeeper Ayush Loharuka contributed a solid 116 runs off 56 balls, with 11 fours and 8 sixes. The bowlers from Arunachal Pradesh struggled to manage the relentless batting onslaught.
