Bihar Chief Minister Transfers ₹1,423.94 Crores to Social Security Pensioners
Significant Financial Support for Pensioners
Today, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary conducted a transfer of ₹1,423.94 crores to the bank accounts of 97.84 lakh social security pensioners through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at the 'Sankalp' auditorium located in Lok Sevak Awas. This amount includes pensions for June 2026 under all three state pension schemes and for May and June 2026 under the three NSAP pension schemes. The event was held via video conferencing, connecting social security pensioners along with district magistrates and dignitaries from all districts.
Introduction of Bihar Pension Day
During the event, the Chief Minister announced a significant initiative aimed at enhancing social security, declaring that the 10th of every month will now be celebrated as 'Bihar Pension Day.' On this day, it will be ensured that all eligible pensioners receive their pension amounts in their bank accounts through DBT.
A Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
The Chief Minister stated that today, ₹1,423.94 crores have been successfully transferred to the bank accounts of 97.84 lakh social security pensioners through DBT. He congratulated all pensioners, emphasizing that this reflects the government's transparent, accountable, and technology-driven welfare system. He acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in prioritizing the dignity and social security of the poor, elderly, disabled, and marginalized communities. He also credited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the effective implementation of social security schemes in Bihar.
Ensuring No Beneficiary is Left Behind
The Chief Minister urged officials to engage with the public during cooperation camp programs and Panchayat Development Day events to ensure that no eligible social security pensioner is overlooked. He emphasized the importance of linking Aadhaar cards for those who have not yet done so. He insisted that pension distribution must be timely, transparent, and guaranteed for all eligible citizens to receive social security benefits with dignity.

The state government's goal extends beyond merely providing financial assistance; it aims to empower every needy citizen with respect, security, and confidence. The increase in the social security pension amount from ₹400 to ₹1,100 has significantly impacted people's lives. During the program, Dr. Preeti, the Director of Social Security, welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a green plant. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Shweta Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Welfare Department H.R. Srinivas, and other senior officials. District magistrates, dignitaries, and beneficiaries from all districts participated via video conferencing.
