Eligible journalists will now receive ₹15,000 per month, a significant rise from the previous amount of ₹6,000. Additionally, in the event of a journalist's death, their spouse will receive a lifelong pension of ₹1,000 per month, an increase from the earlier ₹3,000.
In a post on X, Kumar expressed his happiness in informing that the department has been directed to implement this increase. He also mentioned that in case of the pensioner's demise, the dependent spouse will now receive ₹10,000 monthly instead of ₹3,000.
