Enhancements in Health Worker Compensation

Bihar's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, announced on Wednesday a significant increase in the remuneration for ASHA and MAMTA workers, aimed at improving health services in rural areas. In a social media update, he revealed that the incentive for ASHA workers will rise from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000. Additionally, MAMTA workers will now receive ₹600 per delivery instead of the previous ₹300.

In a post on social media, the Chief Minister stated that ASHA workers will now earn ₹3,000 as an incentive, up from ₹1,000. MAMTA workers will also see their compensation increase to ₹600 per delivery from ₹300. Moreover, in the event of a journalist's death who was receiving a pension under this scheme, their spouse will now receive a lifelong pension of ₹1,000 per month, an increase from the previous ₹3,000.

The monthly pension for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and widows has also been raised from ₹400 to ₹1,100.
