In the match against Gujarat Titans, Bhuvneshwar Kumar achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 350 wickets in T20 cricket. He became the first Indian fast bowler to reach this landmark. Throughout his T20 career, he has played 325 matches and bowled in 324 innings, securing a total of 352 wickets at an average of 24.51. His economy rate stands at 7.35. In IPL 2026, Bhuvneshwar has once again claimed the Purple Cap, having taken 17 wickets in nine matches at an average of 15.52.
Yuzvendra Chahal Holds the Record for Most T20 Wickets
Currently, the record for the most wickets by an Indian player in T20 cricket is held by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has taken 391 wickets. Following him is Bhuvneshwar Kumar with 352 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, another prominent Indian fast bowler, has 347 wickets but has not been in top form during IPL 2026.
