Upcoming Meeting in Punjab Congress

Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring announced on Friday that AICC General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel is scheduled to meet former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Saturday. Baghel intends to have a private discussion before engaging with other leaders. This announcement follows the postponement of a previously arranged meeting between Channi's faction and Baghel.

During a conversation with reporters, Warring mentioned that Baghel informed him about the meeting set for tomorrow, although he lacked details regarding the location or arrangements. He stated that Baghel plans to speak privately first, after which they will convene for discussions. Warring expressed optimism that everyone would soon be seen together on a single platform, questioning if any senior leader had ever refused to accept the president's authority.

In response to the proposed meeting, Congress MP Kumari Selja dismissed rumors of significant discord within the party, asserting that there are no issues and that everyone will come together. This development arises amidst speculation about internal differences following recent organizational changes within the Punjab Congress state unit. On Thursday, senior leaders of Punjab Congress, including Channi, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Paragat Singh, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, and Barindermitt Singh Pahra, convened to demonstrate party unity.

After the meeting, Randhawa remarked that Paragat Singh conveyed a clear message that while there may be differences in opinions, the Congress remains united. He added that the party leadership is fully informed and that they are engaged in discussions to resolve issues.
