Bhubaneswar Police Foil Robbery Attempt, Three Arrested in Dramatic Incident

Police Action Prevents Robbery in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: On Friday, the Balianta police apprehended three individuals accused of attacking a motorcyclist and his passenger in an attempted robbery that occurred the previous night. The suspects, identified as Jogeswar Bhoi (27), Brundaban Bhoi (25), and Balaram Bhoi (25), all hail from Paribasudeipur village. Authorities confiscated iron rods and other items believed to have been used in the robbery attempt, according to Balianta police station IIC Anil Kumar Parida.
The incident unfolded around 10:30 PM Thursday when Murali Palei and an unnamed friend were riding home on their motorcycle. The trio confronted them near Bananihari Temple, demanding cash and valuables. When the victims refused, they were violently attacked with iron rods, resulting in serious injuries to Palei's arms.
In a panic after seeing Palei bleeding profusely, the assailants fled the scene on a motorcycle. Following a tip-off, Balianta police launched a search operation and successfully captured the suspects in Olarbindha village on Friday morning. The accused have been charged under BNS Section 309 (6) and were presented in a local court for remand.
