The nomination phase for the forthcoming Panchayat elections in the Bharmaur development block is gaining significant traction. As of May 7, 2026, a total of 176 nomination papers have been submitted across various Panchayats for the roles of Pradhan, Up-Pradhan, and Ward Members.


Official statistics reveal that 46 individuals have put forth their nominations for the Pradhan position, 45 for Up-Pradhan, and 85 for Ward Members.


Among the Panchayats, Khani Panchayat leads with the highest number of nominations, totaling 16 submissions. This is followed by Aura with 12, Durgethi with 10, and both Chobia and Poolan with 9 each. Other Panchayats like Bharmaur, Chanhouta, and Greema have seen 8 nominations each.


Conversely, some Panchayats remain inactive, with Bajol, Grounda, Kulet, and Nayagraan reporting no nominations for any positions thus far.


Furthermore, 20 nomination papers for Block Development Committee (BDC) candidates were submitted in Bharmaur on Thursday.
