Bengaluru Woman Falls Victim to Disturbing Nude Video Call Scam

A shocking incident has emerged from Bengaluru, where a woman experienced a terrifying situation after accepting a follow request from an unknown individual. Let's delve into the details of this alarming case.

Bengaluru: Are you active on social media? Do you often accept follow requests from strangers without a second thought? If so, you might want to reconsider your actions. A 34-year-old woman named Meghna (name changed) faced a harrowing experience after accepting a request from an unknown person, prompting anyone to think twice before doing the same.

Meghna, who resides in T. Dasarahalli, is the president of a women's organization dedicated to welfare and justice for women. Around 11:45 PM, she received a friend request on Facebook from a profile named 'Lovely Archana,' which featured a picture of a colleague from Chitradurga district. Believing it to be her friend's account, Meghna accepted the request.

Inappropriate Video Call
Shortly after accepting the request, Meghna received a video call from the same account. Upon answering, she was horrified to find a naked man deliberately exposing himself on the screen. Shocked, Meghna immediately ended the call and handed the phone to her husband. However, the man did not stop; he repeatedly called and sent obscene images via Facebook. When Meghna's husband attempted to confront him through a video call, the man remained silent and quickly deleted the images he had sent.

Filing a Police Complaint
After blocking the account on Facebook, Meghna discovered that the man had set her picture as his profile image and began contacting her through WhatsApp using the number 9003490931. On July 9, he continued to call and message her. Eventually, Meghna gathered the courage to file a complaint with the police. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and are currently working to identify and locate the perpetrator.
