A disturbing incident has emerged from Bengaluru, where a woman has accused a delivery agent from an e-commerce company of forcibly entering her home and behaving inappropriately. After sharing her experience on social media, the local police took immediate action, filing a report and apprehending the suspect.
Intrusion Despite Refusal
According to the victim, she was alone in her apartment when the delivery agent arrived to drop off a parcel. After delivering the package, he requested to use the restroom. In her video, she recounted, "I politely declined several times, clearly stating that I do not allow strangers into my home. I even suggested he seek help from nearby men. However, he ignored my requests, removed his slippers, and forcibly entered my house against my will."
Inappropriate Behavior After Exiting the Restroom
The woman alleged that once the individual emerged from the restroom, he engaged in lewd behavior in front of her. She expressed that she was left in complete shock by the incident, emphasizing that a woman's refusal should be respected and that no one has the right to violate her boundaries.
Identification of the Suspect
Upon noticing the woman's social media post, the Bengaluru police promptly reached out to her. Following her written complaint, they registered a case under the Indian Penal Code. The police acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat.
Company Responds to the Incident
In light of this serious incident, the e-commerce company issued an official statement. They expressed their distress over the event and assured that they are fully supporting the affected customer. "Customer safety is our top priority, and we do not compromise on this matter. Upon learning of the incident, we immediately terminated the delivery partner's employment. We are cooperating fully with the police investigation," the statement read.
The company also clarified that all delivery partners undergo background checks and training before being hired. Following this incident, they are reviewing their safety protocols to enhance security measures.
