The Global Chess League (GCL), a collaborative effort between Tech Mahindra and FIDE (the International Chess Federation), is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru from September 5 to 13. This event will feature six international franchises, bringing together chess icons, seasoned champions, elite players, and emerging talents for an exciting season of rapid, team-based chess. Exciting Lineup for Season 4
The defending champions, Alpine APL Pipers, will be led by Magnus Carlsen as they aim to retain their title. The PBG Alaskan Knights will showcase Indian chess legend Viswanathan Anand alongside Arjun Erigaisi. The Ganges Grandmasters will feature Ian Nepomniachtchi and returning star Levon Aronian, while the Fyers American Gambits will be captained by 2026 Candidates winner Javokhir Sindarov and Season 2 MVP Nihal Sarin. Ticket sales for Season 4 have commenced on BookMyShow, with Early Bird tickets starting at Rs 349, granting access to one match and the Festival Arena. For Rs 2,999, fans can purchase a Premium ticket that includes access to all four matches of the day, the Festival Arena, and the Premium Lounge.
