Rajeev Shukla, the vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), expressed strong disapproval on Wednesday regarding the dissemination of a fraudulent audio clip attributed to him by a Pakistani news outlet. He emphasized the need to halt the spread of such misleading information. In a post on X, he stated, "The video circulating with altered, AI-generated audio in my name is fake. @realshoaibmalik, @ARYNEWSOFFICIAL, and @Salman_ARY, please stop circulating this misleading content. For reference, here is my original video."

Clarification on ICC Negotiations

Shukla expressed his satisfaction with the results of discussions led by an ICC representative, overseen by the ICC Chairman, who engaged with both the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board in Lahore. He remarked, "It's a good solution, an amicable solution that prioritizes cricket's significance. Kudos to the ICC for resolving the issue and bringing cricket back to the forefront. This is a significant achievement for the ICC, and I appreciate their efforts in facilitating Pakistan's participation in the Colombo match."

Details on Pakistan's T20 World Cup Match

On Monday, the Pakistan Government instructed its national cricket team to proceed with their match against India on February 15 during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. This decision followed a briefing from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the outcomes of high-level discussions involving the PCB, ICC, and BCB, as stated by the Government of Pakistan.

Previously, Pakistan had considered boycotting their group-stage match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh, which opted out of the tournament after the ICC denied its request to relocate match venues due to security concerns. Bangladesh has since been replaced by Scotland in the T20 World Cup.
