BCCI Honors World Cup Champions at Naman Awards
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) celebrated the achievements of India's five World Cup-winning teams during the Naman Awards held in New Delhi on Sunday. This event marked a grand tribute to the nation's recent cricketing victories.
The U19 Women's World Cup champions, captained by Niki Prasad, were the first to be recognized, followed by the U19 men's champions led by Ayush Mhatre, both receiving a warm reception from the audience. Former Indian cricketers Sudha Shah and Shubhangi Kulkarni presented awards to the Women's U19 team, while IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal honored the Men's U19 squad. The Champions Trophy winners, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir, also took the stage. Harmanpreet Kaur led the Women's World Cup champions, followed by the Men's T20 World Cup winners, who were met with enthusiastic applause. BCCI President Mithun Manhas and Hon Secretary Devajit Saikia presented awards to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 winners, while BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Joint Secretary Prabhtej Bhatia honored the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 champions.
