Bangladesh's Preparations for T20I Series

Bangladesh has confirmed their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, maintaining the same lineup that recently secured a 2-1 series victory over Sri Lanka. The matches are scheduled to take place at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on July 20, 22, and 24, all under floodlights.

The Bangladesh team arrived in Dhaka on Thursday, buoyed by an impressive eight-wicket win against Sri Lanka in Colombo, which allowed them to overturn a 1-0 series deficit. This victory marks a significant achievement for captain Litton Das, who is now the first Bangladeshi skipper to lead the team to two overseas T20I series wins, having previously guided them to a 3-0 sweep against the West Indies last December.

The batting lineup appears strong, with contributions from Tanzid Hasan, Litton, Towhid Hridoy, and Shamim Hossain during the series against Sri Lanka. On the bowling front, off-spinner Mahedi Hasan excelled in the third T20I, taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman also performed admirably, finishing the series with impressive economy rates below 6.00 runs per over.

However, Bangladesh's recent T20I encounters with Pakistan have not been favorable, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in a series held in Lahore earlier this year.

Historically, Pakistan has maintained a strong record against Bangladesh in T20Is, winning 19 out of the 22 matches played between the two teams. Additionally, the weather in Dhaka, which has been affected by heavy monsoon rains, may pose challenges for the series.
