Bangladesh Players Surge in Test Rankings
In a remarkable performance during the ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan in Sylhet, Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das both scored centuries, leading to significant advancements in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings.
Bangladesh achieved a convincing 2-0 victory over Pakistan in this two-match Test series, propelling them to fifth place in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 standings. Veteran player Rahim emerged as the top performer, amassing a total of 259 runs over four innings, which allowed him to ascend 10 positions to tie for 16th in the Test batting rankings. His teammate, Litton Das, also saw improvement, climbing 14 spots to 24th after scoring 239 runs in the series.
The bowlers from Bangladesh also experienced positive changes in their rankings. Taijul Islam moved up two places to 11th, achieving a new career-high rating, while Mehidy Hasan advanced to 25th, and Nahid Rana made a significant leap of 10 places to 54th due to their impressive performances against Pakistan. Additionally, Taijul Islam improved his position in the all-rounders' rankings, rising three spots to 29th.
From the Pakistan side, Khurram Shahzad made a comeback to the Test bowling rankings, entering at 49th after his return to Test cricket in the second match in Sylhet, marking his first appearance since early 2025.
Shifts in ODI Rankings after CWC League 2
Following the conclusion of a tri-series involving Nepal, the USA, and Scotland, further changes occurred in the ODI rankings, which were part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2.
Nepal achieved three victories in the tri-series, leading to improvements in the ODI batting rankings for players Aasif Sheikh, who moved up five places to tie for 81st, and Dipendra Singh Airee, who climbed eight spots to equal 91st.
On the bowling front, Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane rose four places to 32nd, while Lalit Rajbanshi improved by six spots to tie for 47th.
Scotland's Brandon McMullen also made strides, moving up four places to 49th in the ODI batting rankings. Meanwhile, USA spinner Nosthush Kenjige climbed 10 spots to 49th in the bowling rankings.
Milind Kumar from the USA was the most significant mover in the ODI all-rounders' rankings, jumping four places to tie for 18th.
