Bangladesh Cricket Board Revokes NOC for Mustafizur Rahman Amid Medical Concerns
BCB Revokes NOC for Mustafizur Rahman
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has rescinded the No Objection Certificate (NOC) granted to Mustafizur Rahman, preventing him from participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This decision follows medical advice for the left-arm pacer to undergo further evaluation after the third ODI against New Zealand.
According to an official statement from the BCB, the medical team assessed Mustafizur's health and recommended an urgent scan. The statement noted, "It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team."
Consequently, the board confirmed that Mustafizur will miss the remainder of the PSL 2026 season. The release stated, "In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026."
Nahid Rana's PSL Participation Also Denied
In another decision, the BCB has decided not to release fast bowler Nahid Rana for the PSL. This choice is made to ensure he is adequately prepared for the upcoming Test matches. The BCB stated, "The BCB would also like to inform that fast bowler Nahid Rana will not be released for PSL 2026. This decision has been taken to allow him adequate time to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month."
Bangladesh recently triumphed over New Zealand by 55 runs in the third ODI, securing the series 2-1. They successfully defended a total of 265 runs in Chattogram, where Nahid Rana was honored as Player of the Series.
