Balochistan Liberation Front Launches Coordinated Attacks, Claims Multiple Military Casualties
BLF's Recent Assaults in Balochistan
Quetta: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has taken responsibility for a series of violent incidents in Balochistan, specifically in Jhao, Barkhan, Tump, and Turbat, resulting in the deaths of ten Pakistani military personnel, as reported by local news outlets on Tuesday.
These assaults occurred on Monday, just a day after Baloch armed factions, including the BLF, reportedly killed at least fifteen soldiers.
In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch detailed that their fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Jhao region of Awaran district on the afternoon of December 28.
The ambush targeted an army foot patrol, a bomb disposal unit, and a pickup truck that were all gathered at the same location, according to reports from The Balochistan Post.
The statement indicated that eight enemy personnel were killed instantly, with three others sustaining serious injuries.
The group claimed that an armored vehicle assigned to protect the convoy abandoned the scene during the ambush, leaving behind the deceased and injured personnel, and mentioned that they would soon release video evidence of the attack.
Following the initial assault, the BLF announced a second attack later that night, aimed at a military camp in the Srati-Tik area near Rakhni in Barkhan district.
The statement noted that the fighters employed heavy weaponry, including rocket-propelled grenades, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani soldiers and injuries to another when the grenades struck within the camp.
Additionally, the BLF reported a third attack earlier on December 28 in the Gomazi area of Tump, where they fired heavy shells at a military checkpoint, causing what they termed as 'casualties and material losses' to the Pakistani forces stationed there.
In a separate incident, the group claimed responsibility for throwing a hand grenade at the main entrance of a Navy camp in central Turbat on December 27, leading to casualties among Pakistani troops and prompting heightened patrols by Pakistani forces in the vicinity.
The BLF has reiterated its commitment to continue armed operations against Pakistani forces until an 'independent Balochistan' is achieved.
