BLA Takes Over Surab Amid Violent Clashes

In a notable turn of events, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced that its members have seized control of Surab, a city located in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Reports indicate that this takeover followed intense confrontations with security forces. Footage and images reveal that Baloch fighters captured military vehicles and weapons, in addition to taking over police stations, banks, and various government facilities.

The BLA not only gained control of the city but also vandalized and set fire to government properties and vehicles within Surab. It has been reported that a senior police officer, Hidayat Ullah, was confined in a room by the fighters, where he tragically suffocated to death. In an official statement released on Friday, the BLA asserted, "Our freedom fighters have fully taken over Surab city, seizing critical government sites such as the bank, Levies station, and police station."

The group further mentioned that they are conducting snap checks and patrols along the main highways connecting Quetta-Karachi and Surab-Gidar. They promised to provide a comprehensive statement to the media shortly. As of 2023, Surab is estimated to have a population ranging from 35,000 to 45,000.
