Baloch Activist's Open Letter to Indian Prime Minister

Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent Baloch activist, has addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to grant permission for establishing a Balochistan embassy in India. In his correspondence, he condemned the Pakistani military for its extremist and jihadist ideologies.

‘Pakistan's Military Conducted Nuclear Tests’

In a post on X, Baloch expressed, "We hope this letter finds you in great spirits and health. Today, we, the Baloch nation, are reaching out to you as we remember the six nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan's military on May 28, 1998, in our homeland, Balochistan. In collusion with the Nawaz Sharif administration, the Pakistani army covertly transformed the Ras Koh Mountains in the Chaghai region into a site for these catastrophic explosions, without our consent."

He continued, "By detonating six nuclear devices in these majestic mountains, the Pakistani military has exposed our population to harmful radiation, leading us towards long-term devastation. Even now, the remnants of those explosions linger in the Chaghai and Ras Koh mountains. Our mothers in Balochistan are still giving birth to children with physical and mental disabilities due to those tests."

‘Pakistan's Military History of Deception’

Baloch further stated, "The military of Pakistan operates under an extremist, jihadist ideology. Using Islam as a facade, the generals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have consistently sought personal gain, disguising their financial motives with religious rhetoric. A review of Pakistan's history shows a pattern of deceit aimed at misleading the global community. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan's theft of nuclear secrets from Europe and the subsequent development of Pakistan's nuclear capabilities could have been prevented had the international community acted decisively at that time. Furthermore, during the Soviet-Afghan war, the ISI misled the United States while General Zia-ul-Haq secretly advanced Pakistan's nuclear ambitions."

‘A Call for Unity Against Common Adversaries’

In his appeal to PM Modi, Baloch remarked, "On August 15, 2016, your inspiring speech at the Red Fort resonated with sixty million Baloch people. In return, we extended our heartfelt love and best wishes. It is crucial now to turn those words into action, standing with the Baloch people in a meaningful way, representing the voice of 1.4 billion Indians. Together, we can confront and overcome our shared adversaries. It is the aspiration of both the Bharatiya and Baloch people that India facilitates the establishment of a Balochistan embassy in Delhi, fostering communication between our nations to safeguard our mutual national and international interests in the region."
