Preparations are underway for the 10th edition of Deepotsav, set to take place on Saturday, with Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expected to attend the festivities.
In the presence of esteemed sadhus and spiritual leaders, the Vice-President will officially inaugurate Deepotsav 2026. As part of the celebrations, 56 ghats along the Saryu River will be illuminated with millions of diyas, while the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple will be adorned with colorful lights. A ceremonial lighting of 101 lamps will also occur in the temple courtyard.
Chief Minister Yogi will engage in various activities, including the ceremonial welcome of Lord Ram, a symbolic coronation, Saryu Aarti, and the lighting of diyas.
According to the planned itinerary, the Chief Minister is expected to arrive at the helipad near Ram Katha Park around 2:40 p.m. He will observe the grand Deepotsav tableaux and participate in the chariot-pulling ceremony. Following this, he will shower flower petals over Ayodhya from a helicopter, which will carry representations of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lakshman.
The symbolic coronation of these divine figures will take place next, after which the Chief Minister will address sadhus, religious leaders, residents, and devotees at an event held at Ram Katha Park.
He will then head to Ram Ki Paidi to partake in the Saryu Aarti and the ceremonial lighting of lamps. The celebrations will feature projection mapping that narrates the life and story of Lord Ram, along with captivating laser and drone displays.
The 2026 edition of Ayodhya Deepotsav commemorates the 10th anniversary of this grand festival of lights, celebrated a day prior to Diwali on Sunday.
