Axiom-4 Mission Launch Delayed by Weather Conditions

Launch Postponed Due to Adverse Weather
The Axiom-4 mission's launch has been postponed by one day because of unfavorable weather conditions. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced this update via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. Shubhanshu Shukla is set to become India's second astronaut to venture into space since 1984.
ISRO tweeted, "Due to weather conditions, the launch of the Axiom-4 mission to send the Indian Gaganyatri to the International Space Station has been rescheduled from June 10, 2025, to June 11, 2025."
The new launch time is set for 5:30 PM IST on June 11, 2025.
Official Statements on the Delay
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh also commented on X, stating, "Due to adverse weather, the launch of the Axiom-4 mission carrying the Indian Gaganyatri to the International Space Station is rescheduled from June 10 to possibly June 11, 2025. Further updates will be provided as necessary."
Shubhanshu Shukla's Inspirational Message
In a video shared by Axiom Space, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla delivered an inspiring message before his journey. He was recognized for his technological skills and has served as a fighter pilot for 15 years.
In his message, he expressed, "Namaste. I’m Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla. The first Indian astronaut, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, traveled to space in 1984. I grew up reading about him and was deeply inspired by his stories. This journey has been long and unexpected for me. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the chance to fly and now to be part of this mission to space. I was thrilled to learn about this opportunity just a week before arriving at Axiom."
