In a notable initiative to enhance spice farming in Himachal Pradesh, the Horticulture Department organized a one-day awareness camp in Bharmour, partnering with the Department of Seed Science and Technology from Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni (Solan).

The event attracted 90 farmers who were keen to learn about modern agricultural techniques for spice cultivation. Experts from both collaborating departments provided valuable insights into innovative practices designed to improve productivity, sustainability, and market potential.

Officials underscored the necessity of embracing advanced farming techniques to enhance yields and elevate the quality of spices produced in the area. They pointed out the significance of practices such as organic farming, effective irrigation methods, and the use of disease-resistant crop varieties for successful spice cultivation.

Farmers received information about government initiatives aimed at agricultural development, which would assist them in accessing resources and financial support to grow their spice farming operations. The interactive sessions allowed participants to ask questions and receive expert advice on common issues like soil management, pest control, and post-harvest processing.
