In a significant enforcement operation in Nadaun, the constituency of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, officials discovered major violations in hotels, homestays, and food establishments during surprise inspections conducted on Tuesday.

The initiative was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nishant Sharma, who coordinated a team that included police personnel, representatives from the Municipal Council, the Food and Civil Supplies Department, and local Beopar Mandal members. The inspections, which lasted until late afternoon, focused on businesses offering private cabins and rented rooms.

During the raids, officials found numerous school and college students in hidden cabins located within cafés and on the upper levels of various establishments. Furthermore, it was reported that hotel rooms were being rented out without the necessary entries in guest registers, violating established regulations.

In response, SDM Sharma issued strong warnings to the proprietors of hotels, homestays, and eateries. Station House Officer Nirmal Singh emphasized that businesses operating unauthorized cabins or renting rooms without proper documentation would face severe legal repercussions.

Authorities observed that many of these cabins were situated on upper floors, concealed from public sight. While owners claimed these spaces were designed for 'family privacy,' officials noted that the actual circumstances contradicted such justifications.

The SDM urged parents to be vigilant regarding their children's activities after school, highlighting that the inspection campaign would persist.

This crackdown comes amid growing concerns over incidents involving minors in Himachal Pradesh, underscoring the urgency of administrative measures aimed at enhancing oversight and ensuring the safety of youth.
