Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), August 9 - A disturbing incident has emerged from a village in the Gauriganj police jurisdiction of Amethi district, where an eight-year-old girl was reportedly the target of an attempted sexual assault. Authorities have initiated an investigation and filed a case under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code.


According to police reports, the incident occurred on the morning of August 8 when the young girl went out to fetch milk. During this time, a 20-year-old local resident, Vivek Shukla, allegedly attempted to assault her. Ravi Singh, the officer in charge of Gauriganj, stated that a complaint from the victim's family has led to the registration of a case against the accused, and efforts are underway to locate him.
