Atishi's Concerns Over Raghav Chadha's Inaction
On Friday, Atishi, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and opposition figure in Delhi, expressed her discontent towards her colleague and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. She accused him of neglecting critical issues affecting ordinary citizens during a national crisis, including the severe shortage of LPG gas.
Atishi claimed that Chadha hesitated to support the impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). She shared a video on X, stating, 'I have some questions for Raghav Chadha. Our country is currently facing a dire crisis. Our Constitution is under serious threat, and elections are being manipulated through the gross misuse of the West Bengal Election Commission, yet you remain silent. Why are you afraid to speak out?' She further criticized him for refusing to sign the impeachment motion when the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and other opposition parties brought it forward.
Addressing economic issues, Atishi highlighted that the most pressing crisis for the common man today is the shortage of LPG gas. 'You are a prominent figure, so perhaps you are not facing these hardships, but an ordinary citizen struggles even to cook for their child,' she remarked. She emphasized that everyone in the country must decide whether they stand with Prime Minister Modi or with the Constitution and our democracy.
Separately, AAP leader Anurag Dhanda responded to Chadha after he was removed from the position of deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. Dhanda stated in a post that Chadha has been fearful for years and hesitates to speak against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Previously, after his removal, Chadha had criticized the party, asserting that his silence in Parliament should not be interpreted as defeat and questioned why he was being silenced.
