Asus and Microsoft Launch ROG Xbox Ally Handheld Gaming Consoles for 2025

Introduction to the ROG Xbox Ally Series
Asus has teamed up with Microsoft to unveil two new handheld gaming consoles: the ROG Xbox Ally and the higher-spec ROG Xbox Ally X. These devices were introduced during the Xbox Game Showcase and are set to hit the market in time for the 2025 holiday season. Pricing and pre-order information will be disclosed in the upcoming months. A key highlight of these consoles is their unique integration of Xbox and Windows operating systems.
Features of the ROG Xbox Ally Consoles
The consoles will boot directly into a streamlined Xbox interface, bypassing the traditional Windows desktop. A new full-screen mode will help eliminate unnecessary clutter, optimize memory usage, and enhance battery efficiency. Users can still revert to Desktop mode if needed. The ROG interface aims to simplify the gaming experience by consolidating libraries from various platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Game Pass, into a user-friendly layout. Additionally, updates will enable users to manage settings and notifications from apps like Discord using the controller.
Design and Comfort Enhancements
Both models feature Xbox-style grips and impulse triggers designed for improved comfort and tactile feedback. The sleep mode has been optimized to consume one-third less power, contributing to better battery longevity.
