Guwahati, June 10: Entrepreneurs in Assam can now easily register and launch their businesses via the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) portal, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This initiative aims to enhance the investment landscape of the state.

Sarma emphasized in a social media update, “Starting a business in Assam has never been simpler. The Ease of Doing Business portal serves as a comprehensive solution for all your entrepreneurial needs, allowing you to register and commence operations in just seven straightforward steps.”

This initiative is part of Assam's larger strategy to establish itself as a prime investment hub in the Northeast by simplifying regulatory processes and digitizing government services.

According to officials, the EoDB portal consolidates various services and approvals necessary for business setup, providing investors with access to multiple departments through a single digital platform.

The new system is anticipated to minimize paperwork, enhance transparency, and expedite the clearance process.

In recent years, the state government has implemented numerous reforms to improve the business environment, including streamlining procedures, launching online approval systems, and bolstering investor support services.

These initiatives are further supported by the government's flagship investment promotion campaign, Advantage Assam, which aims to draw both domestic and international investments across various sectors, including manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics, IT, tourism, and food processing.

Industry leaders have expressed their approval of the measures designed to lessen compliance burdens and enhance accessibility to government services through digital means.

With the introduction of the Ease of Doing Business portal, the state government aims to boost investor confidence and motivate more entrepreneurs to set up and grow their businesses in Assam, according to officials.
