The Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) has been officially incorporated, marking a significant milestone in enhancing Assam's fertilizer production capabilities. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this new joint venture, which aims to realize the vision of the Ammonia Urea Complex in Namrup. The project, approved by the Union Cabinet, is set to begin construction by December, positioning Assam to become one of the top five states in the country. This development is seen as a crucial step towards boosting the state's agricultural sector and economy.

New Fertilizer Plant Incorporated in Assam

Guwahati, July 26: The Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) has been officially established as a new brownfield ammonia-urea facility within the existing fertilizer complex located in Namrup, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday.

In a social media post, Sarma shared the certificate of incorporation from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, highlighting that this new venture is a joint effort between the Government of Assam and various partners. This development is a crucial advancement in enhancing the state's fertilizer production capabilities.

“This marks a new beginning. I am delighted to announce that the Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) has been formed as a joint venture with the Government of Assam and other stakeholders,” he stated.

He further mentioned, “This company will energize and fulfill the vision of the Ammonia Urea Complex in Namrup, as previously announced by the Government of India.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that this new entity will significantly contribute to Assam's goal of becoming one of the top five states in the nation.

The brownfield complex, which will be situated within the premises of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) in Namrup, received approval from the Union Cabinet in March of this year.

Sarma had previously indicated that construction would begin by December.
