Biswanath/Nalbari, July 17: Students from Assam have once again brought pride to the state as the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the NEET-UG 2026 retest. Notable achievers include candidates from Dhubri and Nalbari.
Leading the way is Taswin Muttaqi Sarkar from Dhubri, who achieved an impressive score of 685 marks and secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 213 in his first attempt, marking him as one of the top performers in this competitive medical entrance exam.
Taswin, who attended a coaching program in Pune, attributed his success to disciplined study habits and regular practice.
"I concentrated more on solving questions rather than just theoretical learning. Daily, I practiced between 100 and 200 questions, which helped me achieve 685 marks in my first attempt," he shared.
His father, Mubarak Hussain, expressed pride in his son's accomplishment, stating that the family provided all necessary support for his studies.
"As parents, we did everything possible to assist him in reaching his goal. Achieving AIR 213 is a significant honor for our family," he remarked.
Taswin's mother, Tasmin Begum, hopes her son will use his success to benefit society.
"We aspire for him to become a compassionate doctor who helps those in need, especially the underprivileged," she stated.
Taswin now aims to pursue a career in medicine and make a meaningful contribution to society.
In addition, Shahid Alam from Guwakuchi village in Nalbari district also excelled in the NEET-UG 2026, scoring 547 marks.
Shahid prepared for the exam through online coaching while studying from home. His family noted that becoming a doctor had been his lifelong dream, and he remained dedicated throughout his preparation.
A high-achieving student, Shahid completed his High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) with distinction and finished his Higher Secondary education in the Science stream in Nalbari.
"I have been preparing for NEET for the past two years. My family has been my backbone throughout this journey. Although I didn't adhere to a strict timetable, I studied for about 12 to 13 hours daily," Shahid explained.
He offered advice to future candidates, saying, "Whether preparing for NEET or JEE, students must maintain discipline from the start and stay consistent in their studies."
His father described the result as the realization of a long-held family aspiration.
"It has always been our dream to see our son excel in NEET. We are thankful to God. He has wanted to be a doctor since childhood," he said.
His mother reminisced about her son's unwavering commitment during his preparation.
"He studied diligently day and night. Although he didn't follow a strict schedule, he studied whenever he felt it was necessary," she added.
