Assam Police Officers Honored with DGP’s Commendation Medals for 2025

Recognition of Excellence in Assam Police

Guwahati, Jan 2: A total of 49 officers and personnel from Assam Police and affiliated organizations have been awarded the DGP’s Commendation Medal (Gold) for their exemplary service in 2025.

Additionally, 424 officers and personnel have been recognized with the DGP’s Commendation Medal (Silver) for the same year.

An official announcement revealed that 12 members from the Indian Army, CRPF, and Assam Rifles have also received the DGP’s Commendation Medal (Silver).

The Gold medal recipients include notable figures such as Special DG (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta, special ADG (SB) Hiren Chandra Nath, ADGP (V&AC) Assam and Director of Fire and Emergency Service Surendra Kumar, along with IGPs Akhilesh Kumar Singh, V Siva Prasad Ganjala, Vivek Raj Singh, Jitmol Doley, Imdadul Hussain Bora, and Devojyoti Mukherjee, among others.

Among those awarded the Silver medal are Managing Director of APHC Lachit Barua, IGP (Administration) Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan, IGP Home Guards and Civil Defence Arabinda Kalita, Director of Forensic Science and Laboratory Robin Kumar, Commandant of 13th APBn Debasish Sharma, and DCPs Jayanta Sarathi Borah and Mrinal Deka, along with SSP Cyber Crime-II CID Saurav Jyoti Saikia.

The Silver medal recipients from the central armed forces include Brig Avaneesh Chambial, Commander of the 73 Mountain Brigade, Brig Sarabjeet Singh, DIG of Sector Assam Rifles, Colonel Kishan Bal P, Commandant of 23 Assam Rifles, Colonel Imliakum Keitzar, Commanding Officer of 42 Assam Rifles, Colonel Neelesh Bhardwaj of 29 Assam Rifles, and Assistant Commandant Sandeep of 147 Battalion CRPF, among others.
