Assam Government Increases ASHA Workers' Incentives and Approves Land Allotments

Incentives for ASHA Workers Enhanced
Guwahati, June 11: On Tuesday, the State Cabinet made a significant decision to raise the incentives for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and their supervisors.
Starting from October 1, ASHA workers will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs 4,000, an increase from the previous Rs 3,000. Likewise, ASHA supervisors will see their honorarium rise to Rs 10,200 from Rs 9,000.
For ASHA workers, the contribution from the Central government will rise to Rs 2,500, up from Rs 2,000, while the State government's share will increase to Rs 1,500 from Rs 1,000.
In terms of ASHA supervisors, the Central government's share will remain at Rs 7,500, but the State government's contribution will increase to Rs 2,700 from Rs 1,500.
Land Allotments Approved
The Cabinet also sanctioned the allotment of land for 1,011 non-individual juridical entities, which include educational, religious, and sociocultural organizations. This includes 464 in Sonitpur district, 306 in Golaghat, 205 in Majuli, and 36 in Kamrup.
Additionally, government land was allocated for 146 government educational institutions, offices, health facilities, Anganwadi centers, and other infrastructure projects, with 108 and 38 allotments in Sonitpur and Golaghat districts, respectively.
In a separate resolution, the Cabinet approved the renaming of the Pollution Control Board, Assam to Assam Pollution Control Board.
