Call for Enhanced Focus on Women's Safety in Assam

Gaurav Gogoi, the President of Assam Congress, has urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Assam to prioritize public welfare and ensure the safety of women in the state. Speaking on Monday, Gogoi emphasized that the Assam police should concentrate on security issues rather than acting as agents for the BJP. He stated that in a democracy, the interests of the public must come first, and the current government needs to meet the expectations of the people of Assam. Although women in Assam voted for the BJP, their safety remains a critical concern. Gogoi expressed hope that the Assam police would focus on enhancing women's safety in the future instead of serving as political agents for the party.
