Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, has categorically rejected the Congress party's claims related to his wife's passport, highlighting several discrepancies. He announced intentions to pursue legal action against Congress leader Pawan Khera, including filing a defamation lawsuit.


In a post shared on the social media platform X, Sarma pointed out six significant errors in the Congress allegations, which included mismatches in names, UAE ID details, and nationality information. He described these documents as a crude attempt at digital manipulation.


End of Pawan Khera's Campaign of Falsehoods

Sarma firmly stated that the truth will prevail, and those spreading misinformation will be held accountable. He expressed confidence that Khera's campaign of lies is nearing its end, suggesting that it could lead to Khera facing imprisonment.


In another post, the Chief Minister remarked that Khera's press conference reflects deep frustration and anxiety within the Congress party. He asserted that Assam is moving towards a historic mandate, causing opposition parties to panic and resort to baseless attacks to mislead the public.

Previously, Congress leader Pawan Khera had alleged during a press conference that the Chief Minister's wife holds passports from three different countries and has concealed information about her assets. The Congress party presented certain documents and urged the Election Commission to disqualify the Chief Minister's nomination based on the alleged concealment of information in his election affidavit.
