Significant Milestone for Assam

In Guwahati, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alongside Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, officiated a ceremony marking the entry into newly constructed homes for one lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). During the event, Sarma highlighted this achievement as a pivotal moment and mentioned that the state government is closely monitoring the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.


Progress on Promises Made

Sarma expressed that this event signifies a major accomplishment, as many of the commitments made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit are now becoming a reality. He also inaugurated HDFC Bank's Tech and Digital Factory, a promise made during the summit, which has materialized within just a year.


Future Investments in Technology

The Chief Minister further elaborated on ongoing discussions regarding substantial investment proposals in the technology sector. He noted that they are working on significant investments, anticipating political stability as they await the Assam elections. Sarma expressed confidence that Assam will continue to attract important investments in the coming months.


Political Landscape Ahead of Elections

Earlier on Monday, Sarma stated that no Hindu can remain in Congress. When asked if any Congress MLA would join the BJP before the assembly elections, he clarified that there are currently no vacant seats available. He mentioned that the ticket selection process is nearly complete, with names ready for 80 seats. Sarma confirmed that there are no open seats in their party, and discussions are ongoing regarding the inclusion of AIUDF MLA from Sonai into AGP, which has already been agreed upon.
