Assam Chief Minister Makes Bold Claims Against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi

Serious Allegations from Assam's Chief Minister

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, has made a striking statement regarding Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, asserting that he will resign from his position if any part of Gogoi's claims about his trip to Pakistan is proven false. This remark comes in light of Gogoi's failure to refute earlier allegations that he visited Pakistan at the invitation of the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI, and collaborated with the Pakistani establishment. During a press conference, Sarma accused Gogoi of traveling to Pakistan under the direction of the ISI and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Pakistan. Furthermore, Sarma alleged that upon returning from Pakistan, Gogoi opposed the purchase of Rafale jets, sought information about India's defense deployments, and inquired about the country's nuclear weapons and their storage within Parliament.

Reiterating his previous claims, Sarma stated, 'If even one of my words is proven incorrect, I will resign as Chief Minister.' Intensifying his attack on the Congress leader, he questioned, 'The crime committed by Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra is nothing compared to the actions of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. If what Gogoi did is not considered espionage, then what is?' Earlier on Sunday morning, Sarma had made serious allegations, stating that Gogoi's trip to Pakistan was not merely a diplomatic visit but a strategic maneuver linked to the Pakistani government. He emphasized that this initiative originated from the ISI and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Pakistan. Sarma underscored the gravity of the situation, labeling it a 'very serious crime' and mentioned that evidence related to the case is being gathered and will be made public soon.
