BJP's Journey Begins in Assam

On Saturday, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially inaugurated the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' from the Dhekiajuli constituency in Sonitpur district, as part of the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. During the launch of the first phase of the journey, the Chief Minister appealed to the public for their support for the party's future initiatives. Speaking to the media, Sarma stated that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra is commencing today, and he seeks the blessings of the people of Assam.


 


Simultaneously, the Assam BJP kicked off the 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' across the state in light of the forthcoming assembly elections. The first phase of this journey is scheduled to run from February 28 to March 9. BJP MP Pradhan Barua, while addressing the event, confirmed the start of the Jan Ashirwad Yatra. He mentioned that the Chief Minister, along with national leaders and members of the state committee, would be present during this initiative. The primary goal of this journey is to connect with the public, meet them, and seek their blessings. It aims to inform citizens about the achievements of the party over the past decade, particularly the accomplishments of the Chief Minister in the last five years. Our party is committed to making this journey a success.


 


A participant expressed enthusiasm for the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, stating that it has commenced today. They wished for the journey's immense success, emphasizing its purpose of connecting with the people of Assam and garnering their blessings and support. The journey began at the Gupteshwar Temple, with an aim to engage with one lakh individuals daily. The party has already announced the initial eight-day phase of the program, which will continue until March 9.


 


According to the state BJP, this journey will serve to communicate the development and welfare schemes of both the central and state governments to the public, while also seeking the blessings of Assam's citizens for the upcoming assembly elections. Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the BJP's campaign songs for the assembly elections. At an event held at the BJP state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan in Guwahati, the Chief Minister officially released three 'election songs' for the Assam assembly elections scheduled for 2026.
