Significant Decisions by the Assam Cabinet


Guwahati, Dec 19: On Thursday, the Assam Cabinet sanctioned amendments to the Assam Fixation of Ceiling of Land Holding Rule, 1957. This amendment empowers District Commissioners to take necessary actions for acquiring surplus land and subsequently transferring it to eligible beneficiaries.


Additionally, the Cabinet approved the allocation of 607 bighas of land for establishing a Group Centre of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Dhemaji.


In another significant move, the Cabinet agreed to provide land pattas to over 308 families throughout the State.


Furthermore, the Cabinet endorsed the allocation of land for a new factory for the Assam Valley Fertiliser Corporation, specifically for an Ammonia-Urea project in Namrup. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for this project on December 21.
