Gehlot's Strong Opposition to Boundary Changes

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed strong disapproval of the Rajasthan BJP government's decision to reorganize the boundaries of Barmer and Balotara districts, which was announced late Saturday night. He labeled this move as a 'Tughlaq order' and criticized it as a hasty decision that goes against the public interest.

In a post on the social media platform X, Gehlot stated that the inclusion of Baytu in Barmer district and Gudamalani-Dhorimanna in Balotara is not administratively sensible. He pointed out that this change has actually increased the distance to the district headquarters for the residents of Gudamalani.

Gehlot remarked, 'This is a gross injustice to the common people. It is evident that this decision was made not for public convenience but to manage upcoming delimitation and political equations.'

He further noted that his administration had created new districts with the intention of bringing governance closer to the people, whereas the current BJP government seems to be ignoring public sentiments and is focused solely on political gains. He condemned this action in the strongest terms.
