Arya Government College in Nurpur marked the occasion of International Yoga Day with a vibrant and motivational event, led by the esteemed Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur.
The celebration saw active involvement from 60 NCC cadets, 25 NSS volunteers, Rovers & Rangers, students from the Department of Physical Education, and members of the Red Ribbon Club. The yoga session was expertly conducted by trainers Mr. Vishal, Mr. Arvind, along with instructors Mahak and Payal, who guided attendees through various yoga postures, pranayama, and meditation practices. They elaborated on the numerous physical, mental, and spiritual advantages of yoga.
In his address, Principal Dr. Thakur highlighted the significance of yoga as a priceless aspect of Indian heritage, urging its incorporation into daily routines for a healthier lifestyle. He motivated students to engage in regular yoga practice to cultivate discipline, patience, and self-assurance.
Participants engaged in yoga activities with great enthusiasm and discipline, committing to embrace yoga for a healthier and more balanced life. The college staff, including Dr. Rakesh, Prof. Manjeet, Dr. Anil Kumar, Prof. Alka, Prof. Shashi, Prof. Reema, Prof. Kiran, NCC In-charge Capt. Surjit Kumar, NSS In-charge Surjit Singh, Dr. Bharti, Dr. Seema Kumari, Dr. Monika, and others, were also present.
At the event's conclusion, Principal Dr. Thakur presented mementos to the yoga trainers in appreciation of their contributions. The program wrapped up with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving a lasting message of health, positivity, and cultural pride.
