Arvind Kejriwal Unveils Major Announcements for Punjab After Ayodhya Visit
Kejriwal's Arrival in Amritsar
After visiting Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, arrived in Amritsar on Saturday. During his visit, he made five significant and historic announcements for the people of Punjab.
A Grand Temple for Mata Janaki and Luv-Kush
In a major announcement, Kejriwal revealed plans to construct a large and magnificent temple dedicated to Mata Janaki and Luv-Kush adjacent to the Valmiki Temple in Amritsar. He emphasized the historical significance of this site, noting that it is where Mata Janaki lived, Luv-Kush were born, and where Valmiki penned the Ramayana.
Shiv Bhajans to Resonate Across 22 Cities
During a bhajan evening titled 'An Evening for Lord Shiva' in Amritsar, Kejriwal stated that the Bhagwant Mann government is organizing such splendid programs to foster devotion among the people. Following a successful event in Jalandhar, the initiative will expand to include grand bhajan evenings in all 22 cities of Punjab.
Revitalization of Patiala's Kali Mata Temple
Kejriwal also announced a significant redevelopment project for the historic Kali Mata Temple in Patiala, with an investment of approximately ₹80 crores from the Punjab government. The architectural model is impressive, and the work is progressing rapidly, with completion expected by September, making it the largest and most magnificent temple in North India.
New Routes Added to Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme
The third announcement pertained to the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme, which previously operated on two routes (Darbar Sahib and Anandpur Sahib). Starting August 1, three new routes will be added, allowing pilgrims to visit Salasar-Khatu Shyam Ji, Haridwar-Rishikesh, and Mathura-Vrindavan. The government aims to facilitate around 150,000 pilgrims on these new routes.
Free Luxury Travel for Pilgrims
Kejriwal clarified that the Punjab government will cover all expenses for this pilgrimage, including luxury AC buses, comfortable hotel accommodations, meals, and sightseeing—all at no cost to the travelers. Participants need only bring four days' worth of clothing, as the government will handle all other arrangements.
Free 'Hamare Ram' Play for Punjabis
In his fourth major announcement, Kejriwal introduced a special play titled 'Hamare Ram,' set to commence on August 1 across Punjab. The play will showcase various unheard dialogues and scenes between Lord Ram and Ravana. While tickets in Delhi were priced at ₹8,000, the Punjab government will offer this play free of charge to the residents of Punjab. Kejriwal described Amritsar as one of the holiest places in the world, highlighting its remarkable sites like Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Wagah Border.
