Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), commended Punjab's educational advancements on Thursday, asserting that the state has surpassed Kerala to secure the top position in a survey conducted by the NITI Aayog. In a post on X, Kejriwal highlighted that Punjab, which previously ranked 27th in an earlier assessment, has now risen to first place within just four years of AAP's governance since 2022.
Kejriwal noted that Punjab's transformation from 27th to 1st place in educational rankings is a significant achievement, especially as it has outperformed states like Kerala. He emphasized that this progress reflects the party's commitment to educational and healthcare reforms. The AAP leader remarked that the government formed in 2022 has made remarkable strides in just four years, showcasing a historic change in government school education.
He expressed his excitement, stating, 'Today, I bring you good news. Punjab has achieved the first position in education across the country. This is not our survey; it is the education survey by the central government's NITI Aayog. Moving from 27th to 1st place in just four years is a tremendous accomplishment that inspires hope. If we set our minds to it, we can achieve anything.' Kejriwal pointed out that the AAP has consistently prioritized education and health in both Delhi and Punjab.
Furthermore, he reiterated the party's focus on providing quality education to children in Punjab, acknowledging that while not everything is perfect, progress is ongoing. He highlighted the significant boost in confidence within Punjab's educational system, noting that many students from government schools have excelled in competitive exams like NEET and JEE.
