Kejriwal Celebrates Court Decision
During a rally at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), expressed his appreciation for a recent court ruling, which he deemed beneficial for the citizens of Delhi and the nation. Referring to the court's decision made two days prior, Kejriwal stated that a historic verdict was delivered in favor of the people of Delhi and the country. He extended his congratulations to the citizens and gratitude to the judge for making such a courageous decision in today's climate of fear.
Rally Following Acquittal
This rally was organized after a Delhi court acquitted Kejriwal, former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia, and 21 others in the Delhi excise police case. Kejriwal accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of conspiring against him and his party for the past four years. He claimed that they had plotted to harass the people of Delhi, alleging that they accused him of corruption and taking bribes. The judge's ruling, according to Kejriwal, was a clear indication that Modi and Shah were lying and that he was honest. Legal experts remarked that such a verdict was unprecedented.
Targeting BJP Leadership
Continuing his criticism, the former Chief Minister of Delhi asserted that Modi was personally overseeing efforts to dismantle AAP. He described the court's decision as a significant blow to Modi, Shah, and the BJP. Reflecting on his personal journey, Kejriwal shared his love for the country, mentioning that during his time at IIT, he had the opportunity to work in the U.S. but chose to serve his nation instead. He recounted his experience in the income tax department, emphasizing his integrity and the respect he earned from colleagues.
Critique of Congress and BJP
Kejriwal further criticized both the Congress and BJP, stating that the public, frustrated with Congress's corruption, had given the BJP a majority. However, he questioned what the citizens had gained in 12 years, pointing out the lack of good roads, water supply, and the deterioration of essential services like railways, airlines, banks, and education.
