Protests Greet Kejriwal in Ayodhya
During his visit to Ayodhya, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, was met with significant protests and chants of 'Kejriwal Go Back.' This backlash stems from a controversial statement he made years ago, suggesting that schools, hospitals, and toilets should be built instead of the Ram Temple. Upon his arrival in the holy city, he faced strong opposition from local organizations and religious leaders. Protesters shouted slogans against him, and some even burned effigies to express their anger. The saints argued that those who once opposed the spirit of constructing the Ram Temple are now trying to show reverence for political gain.
Kejriwal's Visit Continues Despite Opposition
Despite the intense protests, Kejriwal proceeded to pay his respects to Ram Lalla and later visited the renowned Hanuman Garhi temple for prayers. He was accompanied by several party leaders and supporters. In light of the situation, local authorities maintained a heightened security presence to ensure order.
Yogi Adityanath Critiques Kejriwal
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a veiled attack on Kejriwal during a public address. He remarked, 'A gentleman from Delhi (referring to Kejriwal) has also come here today. I want to remind him that the people of Delhi gave him many opportunities, but all he has delivered is corruption.'
