Kejriwal Condemns BJP's Actions Against Students

New Delhi, July 28 - Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has expressed strong criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding allegations of AK-47 rifle firing during a student protest in Siwan district, Bihar. He emphasized on Tuesday that students should not be treated like terrorists. A video allegedly showing a constable using an AK-47 during the protests against irregularities in examinations, which took place on July 25, has circulated widely on social media. Following this incident, the constable was suspended on Monday.

Kejriwal took to 'X' to voice his concerns, stating, 'What has happened to the BJP? In Bihar, our students were shot at with an AK-47. Are these students terrorists?' He further reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary of the historic slogan raised under the leadership of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan - 'The throne is empty; the people are coming.' The former Chief Minister of Delhi urged, 'Please do not provoke the students.'

On Monday, Siwan's Superintendent of Police, Puran Kumar Jha, confirmed that the constable, who was stationed in the District Intelligence Unit (DIU), has been suspended following the video's release, and departmental action has been initiated against him.
