Kejriwal's Allegations Against BJP and Ram Temple Trust
In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged financial irregularities in the donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Ram Temple Trust during a press conference on Friday. He claimed that financial discrepancies have been occurring since 2021, referencing instances where land was allegedly purchased at inflated prices by the Ram Temple Trust.
Kejriwal asserted that the theft did not just begin; it has been ongoing since 2021. He highlighted a significant land scam where a plot valued at ₹2 crore was sold to the temple trust for ₹18 crore within just ten minutes. Similarly, land worth ₹3 crore was acquired for ₹24 crore, ₹9 crore for ₹55 crore, and ₹14 crore for ₹95 crore. Documentation of these transactions is publicly available.
He also accused the trust of irregularities in awarding contracts for the temple's construction. According to him, reports surfaced during the construction phase indicating that engineers were demanding a 40% commission on every tender, which he claimed was a betrayal to the deity. Kejriwal further alleged that several valuable items donated to the temple have gone missing. He expressed that devotees from across the country, including Goa, had contributed generously to the temple's construction, and the news of these alleged financial discrepancies has caused them distress.
He stated that the revelations are shocking, mentioning that items such as Lord Ram's ornaments, footwear, and jewelry have reportedly been stolen. Diamonds and jewelry donated by devotees, along with silver bricks, silver lamps, and even cash donations, have allegedly disappeared. As more information comes to light, the faith of the people continues to be undermined.
