Itanagar, July 27: Mama Natung, the Home Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, categorically rejected the allegations regarding Chinese encroachment in the Taksing sector of Upper Subansiri district, labeling these claims as 'falsehoods and social media fabrications.'
During a press interaction at the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations, Natung asserted that there has been no infiltration by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) into any region of the state.
“There is no encroachment occurring in Arunachal Pradesh by the Chinese. These are merely lies and social media rumors. Our soldiers are consistently safeguarding our borders. No Chinese forces would dare to invade Indian territory, and I assure you that these are just rumors,” the minister stated.
Natung emphasized the strong relationship between local communities in border areas and the security forces, affirming that the residents of Arunachal Pradesh are committed to defending the nation.
“The people of Arunachal Pradesh stand united with the Indian Army and are prepared to sacrifice for the protection of our country,” he remarked.
This clarification from the minister followed claims made by the Nah Welfare Society (NWS), which alleged that PLA activities in the Taksing sector have intensified over the past fifteen years.
The community organization asserted that Chinese military installations and infrastructure have gradually approached the border, noting that they had previously raised these concerns with senior constitutional authorities and elected officials.
These allegations have gained traction on social media, leading to concerns among local residents.
India shares a 1,129-km border with China in Arunachal Pradesh, a region that Beijing claims as part of 'South Tibet.' India has consistently rejected these claims, reaffirming that Arunachal Pradesh is an essential and inseparable part of the nation.
